Derry
is the only remaining walled city in Ireland and is one of the
finest examples of walled cities in Europe. The walls give access
to some spectacular views of the city and the River Foyle. Admission
is free and you can walk the walls any time of the day or night.

The
Guildhall is one of the prominent civic and cultural buildings
in Derry. Hosting concerts and other events regularly throughout
the year. Free tours are available in July and August and at
other times throughout the year by prior arrangement

Tower
Museum
The
Tower Museum gives you a look at the life of Derry from it's
humble beginnings to the present day. There are also special
features on Celtic Monasticism, the Plantation and the Siege
of Derry.
Admission varies depending on group sizes, free to Senior Citizens
on Wednesdays.

St.
Eugenes
Saint
Eugenes Cathedral was completed in 1903 and is one of the citys
most impressive structures with its style of Gothic revival.

Murals
The
Murals are one of the trademark attractions of Derry. Depicting
the troubles over the past 30+ years they have become a major
tourist attraction.
Admission is free and the murals are just 2 minutes walk from
the B&B.

Derry Corner
Another
key tourist attraction placed in the middle of the Bogside area
of the city. This wall was originally the gable wall of a terraced
house in the area and then the houses where demolished the wall
was saved as a monument.

Craft
Village
The
Craft Village is located inside the walled area of the city
and is a pleasant area of the city to relax and have a drink
or watch some of the craftsmen at work. It is a slice of a past
Derry and is well worth a visit.

Millennium
Forum
The
recently opened Millennium Forum (see photo) gives Derry an
edge in theatre productions in the area. With shows running
regularly it is an attraction not to be missed.

Derry
has several leisure centers throughout the city and with the
William Street Baths only 2 minutes walk up from the B&B
you can still keep fit while enjoying the city's attractions.
Pubs
& Clubs
Ireland
is known for it's craic, and with the many pubs and clubs in
Derry you will see plenty of it. Abbey B&B is only 2 minutes
walk from the city centre were you will be spoilt for choice
for entertainment. The pubs range from traditional Irish to
modern establishments and are all worth a visit or two.

Derry
also has a wide range of shops to please the traveller. The
shops range from the traditional gift shops to major high street
names and with two large shopping malls in the heart of the
city you will be spoilt for choice.
